I thought I would create a quick post regarding my springer spaniel as she is such a funny dog.
Springer Spaniels are not a breed for everyone especialy if they are the working vairety such as mine - they can't be left at home all day like somedogs as they get bored if they haven't got anything to do. They are the sort of dog you can spend an hour of so walking get home and they are looking at the door to go out again as if you haven't taken them.
Saying this in my mind they are the best breed of dog they are so much fun and eager to learn, I take my springer spaniel training two times a week, the first training session is obedience training so she learns good heal work and recalls, and other basic good behavour I recommend these classes to any dog owner as it is a great chance for your dog to socialise with other humans and dogs. The second training session of the week is agility - this is probably most seen on the tv in shows such as crufts when you see dogs doing an assult course of jumps tunnels and weaves - this training session was recommended to me by one of the people I met at the obedience class, and is something I wasn't sure of at first but after my first session I was hooked and more to the point my dog loved it - we are by no means experts but we are both picking it up quickly and due to her speed once we crack the technique she will be getting very fast times.
To show my love of the breed I have set up a Springer Spaniel Forum - www.myspringer.co.uk - I have included basic information on a breed but I wanted a place springer spaniel owners could visit and share their experiances and get help with any problems.
